"A Father's Legacy: Your Life Story in Your Own Words", assembled by Terri Gibbs.
This is a 12 month journal asking fathers key questions that will aid us in preserving their legacy for generations to come. The questions include family history and childhood memories. This is a great book for any father to complete.
I bought this journal and gave it to my father on Father's Day 2005. I asked him to complete it and return it to me on Father's Day 2006. He returned the completed journal to me and included priceless family photos and my grandfather's passport which was stamped at Ellis Island as he made his way from Russia to America.
I did not know many of the memories my father detailed in this journal. My intention is to give it to my kids and for them to give it to theirs and so on. In my opinion, this information is priceless. One additional reason I asked my father to complete the journal himself is so I have an example of his actual hand writing and the style in which he writes.
I did a similar exercise with my mother.
One note, there are some questions relating to Christianity and the bible which I removed from the journal before giving it to my father. Because this is not the religion he practices, I chose to delete these.
This book is available at amazon.com.

I have been listening to "Plays Paper Empire" which is the newest music from Better Than Ezra (BTE). I am a huge fan of BTE and I have enjoyed all the music they have recorded. I have been using the song, "Just One Day", from this collection during some of my Life Planning days.
Here is a sample of the lyrics to this very deep and moving song;
If you could change the choices you made,
would you do it - today?
If you could spin the world the other way,
Could you do it on faith?
If time would stand still,
What would you do? What would you say?
If everyone you love came back for just one day?
How would it feel if every dream became real?
and the scars you have fade away
for just on day?
Imagine all the times that you could take back.
What would you have done differently?
Thoughts in your head that you never said
or a heart that you broke and left for dead.
If all the pain you had could be released
how life flies by.
And the night
all the good times and fights
all the take and the give
all the moments we never got to live
