If by Rudyard Kipling

As I write this, many people are experiencing emotional, physical and/or financial pain.  My friend Matt sent me this and I have read it many times.  I believe many of the readers of my newsletter would benefit, as I have, from this great piece.

If you can keep your head when all about you

are losing theirs and blaming it on you,

If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you

but make allowance for their doubting too.

If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,

or being lied about, don't deal in lies,

or being hated, don't give away to hating.

And yet don't look too good, not talk too wise.

If you can dream and not make dreams your master.

If you can think and not make thoughts your aim.

If you can meet with triumph and disaster

and treat those two imposter's the same.

If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken

twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools.

Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,

and stoop and build 'em up with worn out tools.

If you can make one heap of all your winnings

and risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss

and lose, and start again at your beginnings

and never breath a word about your loss.

If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew

to serve your turn long after they are gone

and so hold on when there is nothing in you

except the will which says to them "hold on."

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue.

Or walk with kings not lose common touch.

If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you.

If all men count with you, but none too much.

If you can fix the unforgiving minute

with sixty-seconds worth of distance run.

Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it.

And which is more you'll be a man, my son.

Live with Intention is a piece that serves as a short and very direct reminder of what is important in life.  I hope you derive value from it.

Walk to the edge.

Listen hard. Laugh. Play with abandon.

Practice wellness.

Continue to learn.

Choose with no regret.

Appreciate your friends.

Lead or follow a leader.

Do what you love.

Live as if this is all there is.

Book and Music Recommendation

David Gray is my favorite artists.  David's music is very moving and powerful.  The Greatest Hits album is a collection of some amazing music.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Go-Giver is a fable.  It is a very powerful reminder of the value of abundance, service and giving without the expectation of getting anything in return.  It is a quick read (127 pages) and a great gift book.

There are 5 laws that the fable teaches.  They are;

1. The Law of Value: Your true worth is determined by how much more you give in value than you take in payment.

2. The Law of Compensation: Your income is determined by how many people you serve and how well you serve them.

3. The Law of Influence: Your influence is determined by how abundantly you place other people's interest first.

4. The Law of Authenticity: The most valuable gift you have to offer is yourself.

5. The Law of Receptivity: The key to effective giving is to stay open to receiving.

Enjoy the read!

Quotation

"The feeling of being hurried is not usually the result of living a full life and having no time.  It is on the contrary born of a vague fear that we are wasting our life.  When we do not do the one thing we ought to do, we have no time for anything else - we are the busiest people in the world."

     -Eric Hoffer, philosopher and author.
